Wrapping Presents

If anything prepares me for the job that I know I will eventually get, it will be wrapping Christmas presents.  Anyone who has wrapped more than 10 presents at a time will understand me completely.  I sat down with my mom at 12:30pm  today fully prepared to put in about 2 - 2 1/2 hours worth of work.  8 1/2 hours later we are finally done.  No, you did not misread.  The living room looked like a tornado had formed, ransacked the local trailer park and left the remants on top of the couch, coffee table and floor.  At one point items were strewn in so many places that my dog was unable to stand up without stepping on wrapping paper or getting her hair pulled out by Scotch tape.  It felt like a never ending process of cutting, folding, taping, tying, and tagging.  But we persevered!  With a little bit of DETERMINATION and DEDICATION each present is rip free and adorned with some sort of bow.  The end result was well worth the hard work, just like my future job!  And if my job, like today's wrapping experience, comes with pie and coffee as a reward after a hard days work I will be an extra happy girl.

Background of the Blog

As I was reading the blog of a sorority sister, I realized that most blogs these days are written by new mothers who are wanting to share their experience and their wonderful child(ren) with the world.  Seriously?  I don't know about anyone else but my life is nothing like that.  Then I found a blog that was created to help the author reach her goal of running daily.  I thought, "hey, I have a goal".  It may be getting a job instead of running, but the same concept applies.  That author became a marathoner, hopefully I'll become employed!
